COMMUNITY SAFETY
Privacy Policy
What we collect
Unplugged Roads collects only the information needed to review and display community contributions. This may include a first name or nickname, country, journey information, questions, answers, rig details, product recommendations, product links, and uploaded community photos. We do not ask contributors for last names, street addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses.
How information is used
Submissions are used only to operate and moderate this community. Text and uploaded photos are checked by an automated safety service. Clearly safe content may appear automatically, uncertain content waits for owner review, and prohibited content is rejected. Approved content may display the contributor’s first name or nickname and, for journeys and rigs, country.
Photos
Uploaded journey, question, rig, and gear photos are checked for supported file types. Common hidden metadata, including location and camera information, is removed before storage. Contributors should still cover or blur visible license plates and avoid showing addresses, faces without permission, or other private details.
Product links
Submitted product links and relationship disclosures may be stored and displayed with approved gear recommendations. Unplugged Roads does not add affiliate tracking to member links.
Private partnership proposals
A company representative may provide a company name, contact name, business email, website, product information, offer details, and shipping terms through the product review proposal form. This information is stored privately, is visible only to the site owner, and is used only to evaluate and respond to the proposal.
Private site-view totals
The site records the page visited and the time of the visit so the owner can see basic traffic totals and which sections are useful. These records do not include names, email addresses, or raw internet addresses and are visible only in the private Owner Dashboard.
Security and spam prevention
The site creates a one-way, temporary security identifier from connection information to limit repeated submissions. It does not store the visitor’s raw internet address in the community database. The hosting provider may keep ordinary technical logs needed to protect and operate the service.
Retention and removal
Rejected submissions are deleted. Approved contributions remain until removed by the site owner or through a valid removal request. Spam-limiting records contain no submitted content and are used only for site protection.
Children
Community submissions are for adults age 18 and older. Unplugged Roads is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect submissions from anyone under 18. Do not submit personal information or photos of a child.
Your choices
You may ask for contributed content to be removed through the content removal form.
