Review and Sponsorship Disclosures

Independent reviews

Unplugged Roads is an independent owner community. Reviews and product experiences must reflect what the writer genuinely experienced. A manufacturer or seller may correct a factual specification, but it may not control an opinion, rating, conclusion, or publication decision.

Benefits are disclosed

If Unplugged Roads or a contributor receives a free product, reviewer discount, complimentary accessory, travel benefit, commission, sponsorship, referral payment, or anything else of value connected to a product, that relationship will be disclosed clearly with the related content. A general site notice does not replace a disclosure on the individual review.

No purchased opinions

Benefits are never accepted on the condition that a review be positive or negative. Companies do not receive the right to remove truthful criticism or approve a review before it is published.

Community gear posts

Gear contributors must state whether they bought the product, received it free or discounted, or may earn money from a link. Hidden affiliate, referral, shortened, and tracking links are not accepted.

Product review requests

Companies may send a private proposal through the product review request form. Sending a proposal does not guarantee coverage or acceptance.

Community discounts

Every discount listing states whether Unplugged Roads receives nothing, may earn an affiliate commission, or received money, a product, or another benefit. A discount does not purchase a positive review, ranking, recommendation, or control over community comments.
